This is a one day course for anyone who has perhaps done a trad intro course or has been taught some basic skills by a friend. During this course you will refresh on your gear placements and anchor building, giving you the confidence to get out and enjoy the rest of the years trad days.
- The art of great gear placements
- The principles of trad anchors for varying situations
- Abseiling into sea cliffs
- Selecting and climbing the right route for your style of climbing
Prerequisite skills: This course is ideal for anyone who has given a hand to trad climbing in the past, with an intro course or learned from a friend. You might have lead somewhere between 1 and 20 routes but feel you could improve on your gear placements, anchor building and general confidence whilst trad climbing.
Equipment required: You will need your own harness, helmet and belay. If you have any trad gear then bring it with you, but trad racks will be provided to those who need them.
Location: This training will take place in Swanage the day after the Dorset day meet – so why not make a weekend of it! An email will be sent out beforehand with specific details of meeting place etc.
Cost: £22.50 per person
This course will be led by professional instructor Tim Miller.
