Cheddar Gorge meet
Famed for the most popular cheese known to man and a new meet this year for SCC, we are heading to the fantastic Cheddar Gorge this September for some spectacular limestone trad climbing. This is also our first multi-club meet, joining forces with ICAS climbing club from London; so come along to make some new friends from the Big Smoke!
We will be camping a mere 15 minute walk away from the gorge at a lovely site called Petruth Paddocks. This site is family and dog friendly, and allows camp fires and BBQs – so idea for an SCC meet!
Cost:
Camping costs £10 per person, per night.
Travel:
As always, lifts will be arranged closer to the time. From Southampton this will be a round-trip of around 152 miles, costing £27.20 in fuel – so based on a car of 4 people sharing this works out at around £6.78 per person.
Specific directions to the campsite can be found here.
Booking:
To book your spot, go to http://www.petruthpaddocks.co.uk/bookings.html and book online. Please remember to mention Southampton Climbing Club in the “special instructions” box – this will ensure that we are all allocated pitches in the same area. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment; unlike other meets it has NOT been possible to provisionally reserve pitches.
Finally, please sign up below so that we know you are coming 🙂
