Christmas Meet 2018!
It’s Christmas time at SCC! Let the festivities commence!
Stanage
The venue is on the same farm as last year, but different bunkhouse. So right by the beautiful Stanage rocks. Weather permitting, there is suitable climbing for all levels. There’s bouldering, trad, top roping.
There might also be alternative opportunities for snow related activities, as we saw last year with the sledging.
We shall be staying near Hathersage so very near Stanage. The Bunkhouse we had last year is sadly full. However, there are 2 bunkhouses next to each other just round the corner. One of which has a kitchen and dining area big enough for all.
The huts are called The Hayloft and The Byre. The Byre is a bunkhouse set up that sleeps 14, with most in bedrooms and 4 in the main living area. The Hayloft sleeps 14 and will be a case of mattresses on the floor. Beds will be first-come-first-serve. Bringing warm and comfy beading is highly recommended. Though I am told there is mattresses, I have also been told ‘there should be some spare mattresses’.
It will be cosy, and apologies that it may not be quite as cosy as last year, but I hope that with the right bedding, good food and light hearted approach we will have just as much fun. Both barns have wall heaters and electric storage heaters, so first person in, please turn them all on!

Secret Santa
As is the SCC tradition we shall have a secret Santa and Christmas dinner on the Saturday, everyone will be automatically put into the hat for Secret Santa and an email sent round nearer the time with your person (suggest £5 budget).
Christmas Feast
As always we are planning a Christmas feast. The booking includes the cost of the food.
Environmental Considerations
It will be cold! very cold! bring warm stuff and lots of positive enthusiasm. However, on a more serious note cold fingers are no excuse for leaving rubbish, so please as always, be considerate of the crag and surrounding area.
What to Bring
warm things! There is bouldering, trad and sport, so bring what you have and what you need. Do remember waterproofs and your best christmas jumper, I also recommend fingerless gloves!
