Easter Meet 2025 – Yorkshire
Who?
This meet will be suitable for all members. There is sport and trad climbing, bouldering, walking and caving in the local area.
This meet will cost £48 per person. This is for 3 nights – Fri 18th – Mon 21st April.
This is for a bed in the hut and use of the hut facilities. There are 5 van (or camping) specific spaces available with full access to the hut facilities.
Members can also pay for an extra night if they wish to travel on Thursday 17th and stay that night. This will cost an extra £14 bringing the total to £62. This needs to be booked by 20th March.
Please note – when booking a place on this meet you are committing to attending. We cannot offer refunds for meets where the Club has booked accommodation in advance as this leaves us out of pocket. If, after booking, you cannot attend for any reason you can recoup the cost by finding another SCC member to ‘sell’ your space to. If you do this or cannot attend, please let the committee know.
What?
An area with plenty of walking, climbing and even caving close by. The club has not been to Yorkshire for a meet in some time so it will a great opportunity to explore the area over a long bank holiday weekend.
There’s loads of climbing on offer – the area close to the hut has a range of limestone crags with both sport and trad climbing with trad gritstone crags nearby. For those of a more adventurous nature the area is well known for caving and the hut has a sluice room and drying room. The Yorkshire Dales are well known for great walking routes. There is also a local indoor climbing wall.
The hut is half a mile from the town of Clapham which has a local shop, a pub and cafe. The larger town of Ingleton is a 10 minute drive away.

Where?
We are staying in Lowstern, the YRC hut just outside Clapham, not far from Ingleton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The hut is a classic club hut with accommodation for up to 16 people. There are a further 5 space available for camping or vans outside. Inside accommodation is provided in bunk beds across 2 rooms. The beds are not allocated and the rooms are mixed. Bedding is not provided so you will need to bring at least a sleeping bag and pillow.
Further facilities include washrooms / showers, a lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, drying room and sluice room for cavers.
There is a good amount of parking outside the hut which should allow for members to stay is vans if they prefer that to the bunks if everyone parks sensibly.
Although there is reasonable parking at the hut, please try to car share as much as possible. A Facebook event and Discord channel will be set up to help facilitate with this, so feel free to post a message in there if you are able to offer lifts, or are still looking for one.
When?
We have booked the whole bunkhouse from Friday 18th – Monday 21st. If members wish to book an addition night on Thursday 17th this can be done in the bookings below.
