Sun, sea and climbing! There are very few places in the UK where this is possible. Gower is always an incredible experience. The setting means its ideal for all levels of experience. There is a huge range of outstanding routes stretching along the coast and a full bank-holiday in which to enjoy them.gower1

Climbing

The majority of climbing available locally is trad, but there are sport crags a short drive away if that’s more your cup of tea. This is a trip for ALL levels of experience and skills, with some pretty feisty and interesting routes. For beginners, it is an ideal opportunity to become more familiar with climbing outside. If you’ve never set hand or foot on rock this is the perfect time to give it a go as there are plenty of climbs at the lower end of the grade to get you started – and within an easy walk to the campsite!

Accommodation

We will be staying at Nicholaston Farm campsite for the third year in a row – as anyone who has been before will attest, this is one of the nicest sites around with high-end toilet/shower facilities, very friendly staff and a lovely farm shop/cafe on site. Even better, it is a mere 10-15 minute walk to the beach (and the crags!).

Important – PLEASE READ
For those of you that have been to the Gower before, you will know that it is a spectacular place and the experience is special. You may also be aware that there is something about the atmosphere at the Gower that seems to provoke some rowdiness amongst members for the club.

When we tried to book the meet this year, they remembered us. We are the first climbing group that they have had a problem with and climbers are usually so considerate, that these are the only large groups they allow. If we make a repeat of last year, it is likely that they will not let us back. It is the only campsite by the beach. Please be aware of your noise an behaviour.

We will be holding evening gatherings on the beach and would like to encourage BBQs to turn this into a positive experience, so that we can still be social without disrupting other campers.

Booking

Please sign up below if you intend to come so we can keep an eye on how many people will be joining us. We have reserved 30 places (10 pitches) – the rest of the camp site is full! Payment is made upon arrival so please report to reception before pitching your tent. We have 30 reserved spaces for the club. We will set up a group nearer the time for anyone that needs to arrange tent sharing. Camping fees are £11 per person, per night for small tents (2 man); for larger tents and campervans please see their website for the full price list: http://www.nicholastonfarm.co.ukIf you have a large tent or campervan please phone Nicholaston Farm on 01792 371209 to book your space in advance.
