Gower Peninsula meet 2016
Come to the fantastic Gower Peninsula, South Wales over the late May bank holiday weekend for some quality sea-cliff climbing straight from the beach! This is one of the highlights of our climbing calendar so we hope you can make it 🙂
Climbing
The majority of climbing available locally is trad, but there are sport crags a short drive away if that’s more your cup of tea. This meet is appropriate for ALL levels of ability; in fact, it is an ideal opportunity for those of you that are attending the North Wales Training meet earlier in the month to practice your newly acquired skills! If you’ve never set hand or foot on rock this is the perfect time to give it a go as there are plenty of climbs at the lower end of the grade to get you started – and within an easy walk of the campsite!
Accommodation
We will be staying at Nicholaston Farm campsite for the third year in a row – as anyone who has been before will attest, this is one of the nicest sites around with high-end toilet/shower facilities, very friendly staff and a lovely farm shop/cafe on site. Even better, it is a mere 10-15 minute walk to the beach (and the crags!), where we will be having camp fires and BBQs in the evenings, weather permitting. Camping fees are £9 per person, per night for small tents (2 man); for larger tents and campervans please see here for the full price list.
Booking
Please sign up below if you intend to come so we can keep an eye on how many people will be joining us (we will need to let them know in advance if we need more than 10 pitches); don’t forget to mention you are part of Southampton Climbing Club so you get directed to our designated spot! Payment is made upon arrival so please report to reception before pitching your tent. If you have a large tent or campervan please phone Nicholaston Farm on 01792 371209 to book your space in advance.
