Event Type

We will be returning to the Gower Peninsula in South Wales this year during the late May bank holiday weekend  for some fun and exciting climbing at the seaside! This venue provides trad and sport routes of all grades, and is the perfect location if you are a seasoned climber or hoping to get stuck in for the first time.

Accommodation

We will be staying at Nicholaston Farm Camping and Caravan site, which is perfectly situated between Three Cliffs Bay and Oxwich Bay, within walking distance of the beach – so climbing, beach barbequeues and camp fires are all within easy reach. The campsite has a newly refurbished toilet block with free showers (20p coins no longer required!), and now has free WiFi for those Facebook addicts among you! Camping prices (per pitch per night) are shown below.

Cost

Small 2 man tent & Car (max 2 people) £19
Family Tent & Car/vw sized campervan £24
Large Tent & Car (7 berth +) £26
Additional Adult £5
Additional Child £2
Caravan/Motorhome + awning & car £26

Transport

Car share: for a car it works out roughly £12 each for the return journey (Assuming 4 in a car, inc the Severn Bridge Toll). Cost will vary from car to car so this is up to the drivers.

Food

On camping trips we tend to cater for ourselves, so bring along your gas cookers and trangias, cooking utensils and food. There is a shop and cafe on-site, and Sainsburys/Tesco stores are located in Swansea if you want to stop of en-route. If the weather allows, we will have a BBQ on the beach on the Saturday night, so bring along any BBQ-specific paraphernalia and food for that.

Climbing

This meet is open to beginners and more seasoned climbers alike; if you have never climbed outdoors do not fear! You can second routes with more experienced climbers and top ropes may also be set up for you.

Equipment

Essential:
Sleeping bag, roll mat/thermarest/airbed
Tent + cooking equipment (Buddy up if you do not have these)
