Event Type

This meet will be suitable for all members with bouldering, sport or trad climbing experience. Although there are sport crags in the Peak District, this meet will mainly focus on bouldering and trad climbing at the local gritstone crags, such as the Roaches.

We are staying at Hazel Barrow Farm campsite, just outside Upper Hulme near Leek which is close to the sprawling crag of The Roaches that offers a wide range of gristone bouldering and climbing. Check out UKC.

Bouldering at Newstones & Baldstones

There is also a small crag within walking distance of the campsite which has some good bouldering.

There are bolted limestone crags within driving distance such as Harpur Hill Quarry and several indoor walls in Sheffield.

As well as climbing there is plenty of walking and cycling in the local area.

Food and drink:

The closest shops are in Leek which is about a half hour drive away.

There is a pub – The Winking Man – within walking distance but booking is recommended at the weekend as it gets very busy.

Hazel Barrow Farm, Upper Hulme, Leek, ST13 8UQ.

Cost is £10 per person per night. You do not need to contact the campsite. Cash on arrival.

We will be the only people staying at the campsite. It is a grassy area on several levels with a separate parking space for cars. You cannot park at your tent.

The campsite has limited parking. As such it is not suitable for those staying in vans. The pub up the road offers overnight stays for vans although they advise you pre-book.

Due to limited parking please car share where possible. If there is not enough space at the campsite you may need to leave your car elsewhere.

The campsite has a toilet block with showers.
