This training event is intended for trad climbers with a bit of experience on single pitch routes looking to learn how to multi-pitch climb, enabling you to access some of the most awesome routes and best views.
This course will be lead by professional instructor Tim Miller. It will be held during our Cornwall meet and will be an all day event, so please be prepared for any weather and bring your own food and drink for the day with you.
Prerequisite: You should have lead a trad climb at any grade and be a competent lead belayer.
Course content includes:
- Principles of multi-pitch climbing and equipment used
- Climbing calls and communication
- Building anchors for multi-pitch climbing
- Belaying for multi-pitch climbing
- Abseil access on sea cliffs
- Introduction to minor problem solving
A note on availability: This course is 1:2 ratio – two climbers per instructor. Initially it is being advertised for 2 people, but if you are interested to do it and it’s fully booked already, please do contact the club and we can look at opening more spaces with either adding instructors or opening for more dates.
Cancellation policy: If you can no longer attend this session, there are often a number of other people who would like to attend; please let the training secretary know that you can no longer attend the session, and we will be able to help you publicise this to others in the club.
