North wales long weekend
Update: Please let us know if you’re planning on coming, although the campsite is very laidback, and operates a “just pitch up policy” we have filled the spaces that we initially discussed with the owner. I will check with the campsite(s) in the valley and post an update Monday.
By popular request its a North Wales long weekend – we’ve warned the campsite scc are coming. please sign up so we know who is coming
Accomodation
Gwern Gof Uchaf is a small, friendly site set on a 750 acre traditional working hill farm. It is beautifully situated, right at the foot of the famous Tryfan peak, in the Snowdonia National Park. The site is run by the family who farm Tryfan itself.
The long established campsite has offered excellent access to the mountains for many years, and is an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday. The site now includes a new shower block and washroom, the use of which is included in the price of the pitch.
The deal is pitch up with your tent, and the farmer will come round for the fees from you in the morning, though I was having trouble with his accent
we’re thinking of heading up thurs eve so we can grab a good pitch before the tourists arrive 🙂

Climbing
There’s lots of it, multi pitch trad, just walk up hill from your tent!
Transport
Please try and share lifts to keep things efficient, it’s a bit of a long cycle from Southampton, but wouldn’t be the furthest I’ve ridden for a climb
Kit:
bug spray and clothes for all weather types, plus camping gear
The Local Area
Please pick up litter if you can, and certainly don’t leave any, the Welsh weather will punish you for sure.
