The club will organise car hire from Tenerife South Airport, the cost of the hire is included in the ticket price. Drive time from the airport to the hostel is 17 minutes. More information on recomended flights will be added when bookings open.

Things to bring

Essential:

  • Climbing stuff – Harness, rock shoes, belay device, helmet, sling and carabiner
  • Clothing – Average daytime temp in Tenerife around January is high teens, however there is a small chance of rain and it can get chilling in the shade, wind or evenings.

  • Water bottle – at least one for use when out and about
  • Personal first aid kit

Desirable (bring if you have these):

  • Trad rack if you want it
  • Quick draws
  • Single rated rope (60m preferable)
  • Approach shoes
  • Guide books/Maps of the area
  • Clip stick

Members can borrow gear from the club. This can be done by filling out an equipment request form.

Insurance

Everyone will also need their own travel insurance to cover their holiday. Be aware that any existing travel insurance you have may not cover rock climbing so you might need to take out specific cover for this trip. Some suggestions include: SportsCover Direct, Snow Card or The BMC.
