Problem Solving for climbing
This training event is intended for Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced trad climbers looking to advance their skills in self-rescue and general climbing safety. You are expected to have a good understanding of how to build a belay anchor with trad gear.
This is an ideal course to take if you’re attending the Cornwall meet.
Learning how to get yourself out of small and large problems with professional instruction is a vital part of being a well-rounded trad climber. From finding a knot in the middle of your rope to dealing with an unconscious second, having the skills to solve problems is essential climbing safely.
This course will be run by mountaineering instructor Tim Miller and will be tailored on the day to ensure that all members of the course advance their skills.
Course content includes:
- Problem avoidance techniques
- Dealing with emergency and rescue services
- Skill for abseiling safely
- Abseiling past a knot
- Ascending a rope
- Escaping the system
- Providing assistance to casualty climbers
