St Just, Cornwall 16-30th July 2016
Come to Cornwall for a TWO-week long climbing extravaganza!!
This trip is simply a must for any outdoor enthusiast, with fantastic granite crags and beautiful scenery, not to mention the pasties and cream teas! And don’t forget, the first Saturday (16th July) is Lafrowda day – the end of the art festival in St Just and always a fun, free party, and a great way to start your holiday 🙂 For the first time this year we are extending this trip over two weeks to allow families to attend during the first week of the school holidays, so feel free to stay either week, or both!!
There is a fantastic range of trad climbing at a huge number of crags to suit all abilities, and there is even climbing within walking distance of the campsite. So sign up today for a week or two of guaranteed fun!
Accommodation:
We will camp just a 10 minute walk down the road from St. Just at the Trevaylor campsite in Botallack (see http://www.cornishcamping.co.uk/ for details). This is a lovely site with a shop, bar, restaurant, laundrette and a host of other facilities available (and yes, even WIFI!). We have reserved 10 medium and large pitches for SCC members – this is flexible.
The price for camping varies, depending on the size of your tent – but SCC members receive a 10% discount, so don’t forget to mention you are with us when you book! You need to pay 25% deposit upon booking, and the balance is payable 28 days prior to arrival.
You pay for the pitch, plus occupants (i.e. for a two-man tent, that’s £5 plus £4.50 each per night, so £14 per night total). As a result, sharing your tent with makes it cheaper!
Although places are not limited on this trip, it will be the beginning of the school holidays so is likely to be quite busy – so please book early to avoid disappointment, and sign up here so we know you are joining us 🙂 To book, phone the campsite directly (01736 787016 or 07816 992519) and don’t forget to mention that you are a part of Southampton Climbing Club. If you book online instead you risk not ending up in our part of the site, and you will also pay more.
We hope you can make it!
Please come and speak to any SCC committee member at St. Marys on a Tuesday evening if you have any questions, or drop us a line at sotonclimb@gmail.com.
