There are two separate days of training, both providing professional instruction and all required equipment.

The climbing:
Trad climbing. Superb easy lab climbing at Little Tryfan or totally awesome multi-pitch trad climbing on Snowdon? one is truly spoiled for choice here. For those of you who have got to grips with single pitch lead climbing Snowdonia offers some truly exceptional easy multi-pitch routes – some routes are so epic you may want to take lunch at the 5th belay ledge!.
These world-class crags right next to the road, or two hours walk into the mountains – your call! The exact climbing locations will be decided on the nights before when we know what the weather will be like.
Wet weather fun:
If the weather is not obliging, Snowdonia has loads of great hiking, and Betws-y-Coed, which is a short walk from the hut, has loads of shops and tearooms etc. There is also a fantastic indoor climbing wall nearby.
Accommodation:
Hut, ‘alpine style’ bunks. Please bring your, sleeping bag, pillow, and ear plugs if you need them. Price is £15 per person for both nights.
The hut has a gas cooker/oven, fridge, toilet bloc with shower, hot/cold water, wood burning stove.
You are more then welcome to make your own accommodation plans too and then join us for group climbing or the course days. If you’re doing this then please just email the club here to let us know and we’ll keep you in the loop of where we’re climbing each day.
A note on food:
Since this is a hut meet and space is limited we advocate cooking as a group.
By division of labour we will cook an evening meal on Friday and Saturday and a porridge breakfast for Saturday and Sunday.
We will aim to keep the costs low, but will make sure the meals are of good quality. If there is a high turnout (fill the hut) then the food costs will be included.
Lastly the club has several good cooks! so its a pretty safe bet the food will be good!!
Guests:
Guests (inc u18’s) are welcome to come if accompanied by a responsible member. Please note however that spaces in the hut will be prioritised for members should this meet become oversubscribed. If you wish to bring guests please could you speak to us first and we will do our best to accommodate you.
All members are welcome!
Beginner climbers are welcome and are encouraged to join one of the course if you meet the prerequisite experience. In any case, there will be lots of opportunity to get belays, second routes, and top rope outdoor routes. Just ask –everyone will get to climb.
Driving:
Works out to ~£13 per person based on 4 sharing a car. Driver’s discretion.
