Training: Abseiling workshop
With so many of our local trad climbing venues being sea cliffs, getting the knowledge on how to access them, as well as the confidence to do so, is crucial! Learn how to build anchors for abseiling, keeping yourself safe and help others to get to your crag.
This session will be led by Luke Hunter who is a climbing wall lead instructor at Calshot Activity Centre.
Prerequisite skills: Competent at top rope climbing and belaying.
Equipment: you will need to bring a harness and a belay device. Optionally, you can bring your own prusiks, but don’t worry if you don’t have one – Luke will have spares to hand out!
The price of the training is £20 + Calshot entry fee which is currently £10.50 for SCC members.
About your instructor: Luke is a qualified RCDI (Rock Climbing Development Instructor), CWDI (Climbing Wall Development Instructor), he is also ML (Mountain Leader) and MCI (Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor) trainee.
