This course is for the mid-grade trad climber who wants to break in to the extreme grades. Learn advanced climbing techniques and keep composed in tough situations.
Prerequisite Skills: At least 10 trad leads with 5 at VS or above and 1 at HVS. Indoor leading at around 6b.
Course Content:
- Advanced gear placements and how to assess placements efficiently
- Climbing pace and flow
- Coaching for controlled technique and static climbing movement
- Advanced belaying for traditional climbing
- Managing leader falls
- Rope and runner management
- Mind management and keeping control
Equipment required: Harness, helmet, belay device, trad rack.
This course will be lead by professional instructor Tim Miller. It will be held during our Cornwall meet and will be an all day event, so please be prepared for any weather and bring your own food and drink for the day with you.
A note on availability: This course is 1:2 ratio – two climbers per instructor. Initially it is being advertised for 2 people, but if you are interested to do it and it’s fully booked already, please do contact the club and we can look at opening more spaces with either adding instructors or opening for more dates.
