Wye Valley Limestone meet, 23-25th September
Please note: we are no longer taking bookings for this meet. If you wish to attend, you may email Beeches farm campsite directly at beechesfarmcampsite@gmail.com or call them on 07791540016 ; we have been warned the site will be busy so do not delay if you want to come!
Come and climb the beautiful limestone cliffs along the river Wye
This is a new meet for SCC, and it is long-overdue! We will be camping in Beeches Farm Campsite, a stone’s throw from the fantastic Wintour’s Leap; in the words of UKC: “The gem of the Wye Valley. Superb limestone, outrageous overhangs, technical faces, cracks, flakes, nice views, you name it. Mainly multi-pitch routes to about 90 metres.”
The campsite:
Beeches Farm Campsite is in a spectacular setting with good facilities: the toilet block has showers on a coin meter (£1 for 4 minutes) and a wash room; every pitch has a fire pit and there is fire wood for sale on site (you must only burn wood bought at the campsite). Please note: like most campsites, Beeches Farm has a strict no-noise policy after 10pm.
Cost and booking info:
£6 per person, per night for adults and £4 for children. And you want to bring your crag dog, that’s £2 extra per night 🙂
Unlike usual camping trips, we have had to secure our booking with a deposit; therefore please sign up and pay below as you would for a hut meet. If you intend to stay for just one night, please can you specify Friday or Saturday night in the comments box so we book the correct number of pitches.
Travel:
This will be a 220 mile round-trip, costing around £30 in petrol so don’t forget to reimburse your driver!
